Wallet Analyser
The profile of a wallet from its whole history on every network — its traits, age, signed transactions, networks and gas; where its money comes from and goes; when it acts; who it deals with; which protocols it uses; and its gas over time. Works on your own wallets and on any wallet you follow.
Wallet Analyser reads a wallet's entire history and describes how it behaves: how old it is, what kind of wallet it is, where its money comes from and where it goes, who it deals with, which apps it uses and when it is active.
It works on your own wallets and on any wallet in your watchlist. Pointed at your own wallet, it is a summary of your habits. Pointed at a whale or a fund you follow, it is the fastest way to understand what kind of player it is.
Choosing the wallet
The Analyser studies one wallet at a time. Choose it in the wallet selector at the top right. With All Assets selected, buttons under the title let you switch between your wallets.
To study a wallet you do not own — a whale from Whale alerts, a large holder of a token from its Technicals page — add it to your watchlist first. See Adding a wallet.
Traits
A row of labels describing the wallet at a glance:
| Trait | What it means |
|---|---|
| Veteran | Its first transaction was 4 or more years ago |
| New wallet | Its first transaction was less than 6 months ago |
| Active trader | It swaps often — two or more swaps per active month |
| Rarely trades | It has made very few swaps |
| Uses DeFi | It has used several known protocols or made many contract calls |
| Multi-chain | It has signed transactions on 3 or more networks |
| Bridges often | It has moved coins between networks many times |
| Funded from exchanges | Most of the money it received came from exchanges |
| Mostly receives | It has many transactions but signed very few itself |
| Spam magnet | It has received hundreds of tiny spam transfers |
| Dormant | It has not signed anything for over 6 months |
| Active this week | It signed a transaction in the last 7 days |
Each trait shows the figure behind it, for example First transaction 6.2 years ago or 148 swaps · 3.1 per active month.
The five figures
| Figure | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Age | Time since its first transaction on any network |
| Signed transactions | Transactions the wallet sent itself, and on how many different days |
| Last signed | The last time it did something itself |
| Networks | How many networks it has signed on, and how many have any activity |
| Gas paid | What it has spent on network fees in total, and per transaction |
Where money comes from and goes
Money received and sent, grouped by who was on the other side, with how many different counterparties there were in each group:
- Exchanges
- Protocols
- Bridges
- People — ordinary wallets
- Your wallets — your other tracked wallets
- Other contracts — contracts without a known name
- Not identified yet
Swaps and bridges are left out: in a swap the money stays yours and only changes coin.
How to read it: a wallet funded mostly from exchanges and sending back to exchanges trades actively. One receiving from exchanges and sending to protocols is putting its money to work in DeFi. One receiving from people and rarely sending anything is a holder.
When it acts
A grid of the week — days down the side, hours across the top — showing when the wallet signs transactions, in your local time. The darker the square, the more often.
Under it: its busiest day and hour, and its usual three-hour window.
How to read it: a wallet run by a person clusters around that person's waking hours, which also hints at their time zone. A wallet active evenly around the clock is usually automated.
Who it deals with
The addresses the wallet has exchanged the most money with:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Address | Its name when known, or its address, and what it is: Exchange, Protocol, Bridge, Person, Yours, Contract or Unknown |
| Transactions | How many times they interacted |
| In | Money received from it |
| Out | Money sent to it |
| Between | The first and last time they interacted |
| Networks | Where they interacted |
Eight per page.
Protocols used
The named apps the wallet has used — routers, bridges, lending pools and so on — with how many times, when it last used each, and on which networks.
How to use it for your own wallet: an app you used once, long ago, may still be allowed to spend your tokens. Check the approvals in Health & security.
Networks
Every network where the wallet has activity: when the activity started and ended, the total number of transactions, how many it signed itself, and the gas it paid there.
It shows where a wallet actually operates, which can be very different from where it holds its balance today.
Gas over time
What the wallet paid in network fees each month, as bars, with its single most expensive transaction.
Gas is a real cost that portfolio totals usually ignore. It also shows behaviour: high fees during busy markets mean a wallet that acts when everyone else does, which is the most expensive moment to act.
While the history is being read
When a wallet has just been added, its history is still being downloaded and organised; the page says so and fills in on its own. Some counterparties may take a minute to be identified. For exchange wallets, only recent movements are followed, so the profile covers that part.
