Unlisted tokens
Why some tokens in your wallet are shown separately and left out of your portfolio total.
If your wallet holds tokens with no real market, the overview says so:
5 unlisted tokens excluded from totals
Those tokens are still visible, listed on their own. They are just not counted in your net worth.
Why
Anyone can send tokens to any address. It costs the sender very little and requires no permission from you.
A common scam works like this: create a token, give it a name resembling something real, set up a tiny liquidity pool so it shows a price, and airdrop it to thousands of wallets. The token now "quotes" at, say, $4 each. Send someone 100,000 of them and their portfolio tracker reports $400,000 that does not exist.
The fake balance is only the bait. The damage happens when the holder visits the website advertised in the token's name, tries to sell, and signs something that drains the real assets.
How they are identified
The market data provider assigns a proper identifier to coins that are genuinely listed and traded — ethereum, uniswap, chainlink. Tokens it has no real listing for get a synthetic identifier built from the contract address, in the form 0x1a2b…_ethereum.
That distinction is reliable, so the platform uses it. A token with a real listing counts. A token with a synthetic identifier does not.
Tokens worth less than a dollar in total are also filtered out as dust.
What being excluded means
An unlisted token is left out of:
- Total portfolio value
- All-time and realized P&L
- Allocation, concentration and diversification
- Risk and health scoring
It still appears in its own section, with the amount you hold and the nominal value the price would imply, so nothing is hidden from you.
Why this differs from other trackers
Most portfolio apps count everything. It produces impressive numbers and occasionally a support ticket from someone who thinks they are suddenly rich.
The rule here is that a number is shown when it can be computed honestly. A price nobody will actually pay is not a price. See How the numbers are calculated.
If tokens you did not buy appear in your wallet, do not interact with them. Do not visit websites named in the token, do not attempt to sell them, and do not approve anything. Leaving them untouched is safe; the tokens themselves cannot move your funds. The Health & security view flags approvals that can.
If a real token is wrongly excluded
Possible, mainly for very new listings or thin markets. The token will start counting automatically once it has a proper listing in the market data. You can confirm what is being excluded and why in the unlisted section.
